What are blogs?
What is a Blog?
You have probably been registering an eyeful and an earful of the B word over the past several years. It has been pouring down from cyberspace like cosmic detritus, hitting earthlings at the rate of a few million hits a day. The world of blogging is collectively referred to as the “blogosphere”. No kidding with security!
You want to give priority to your website security. It is a wicked world out there, and there are scammers, spammers and computer hackers galore waiting to get at your throat. Don’t ever ignore your website security issues.
You don’t want to give any of them the smallest chink to penetrate. Your blog security should probably be the numero uno concern for you. Content creation and promotion is a vital part of blogging, but it is all meaningless if your blog is susceptible to compromise by every hacking Jack that pops up. A serious hacker attack can destroy everything you have created.

In all my posts on plugins, I will talk about those plugins that are pretty much in the “can’t do without” category. You must understand that there are thousands of plugins, and while a lot of plugins share the same functions and features (though maybe not the same efficiency in carrying out those functions and features), many plugins are worth considering only if you have specific blog functions for which you require specific boosts. An example of this would be if you are selling something on your blog and you install a plugin that enables Paypal links.

Get your plugins plugged in
Here is a list of plugins you simply must have installed and functioning on your blog. By no stretch of imagination should this be treated as an exhaustive list—there are thousands of plugins you can fool around with. Just remember, though, that overdoing plugins can have an adverse effect on the functioning of your blog.
However, you should treat the plugins listed here as essentials: plugins any blog must have installed. In my next post, I will mention some plugins you can use that are almost as important.
